FALL 2011 TRENDS

FALL 2011 TRENDS

Hair

Jennifer Aniston's new cut has been quite a popular choice for a new look. Since it hits just below the shoulders it is a great option for someone who wants a change but still wants some hair to play with. Her face framing layers are fun and playful. Notice her color is very soft and natural looking. Stripes and drastic contrast is out.
Braids are super easy and very romantic. The side swept braid has been seen all over the runways. Curl some of the hair that falls out on the opposite side for a dressier style.
Celebs and models have been parting their hair in the middle to accentuate their high cheek bones and give a more sculpted appearance. This is a great look to try because it requires no commitment.

Makeup

Shimmery metal's without the tinkerbell "too much" eye shadows are very popular. They are appealing for every eye color because they give a healthy, young, appearance by making the whites of your eyes pop!
Lipstick that is an off red color is very flattering in the fall. Many looks this season are inspired by the 70's. Makeup that is simple yet flattering looks great on everyone. Remember, less is always more!

Nails

Who said the french manicure had to be boring? Spice it up a bit by using your favorite color just on the tips.
Her eyeshadow may be a bit too much for you, but check out those nails! Just a simple rhinestone can make quite the difference over a dark hue.
This is Chanel's fall polish collection. We are in love with the "Peridot." Once again we can see a common theme with the metals in the "Graphite" polish.
Above and below are some samples from OPI's "Touring America" Fall 2011 collection. All of the polishes have a more matte look and would go great with almost anyone's fall wardrobe.

The Best Haircuts for Your Texture

Curly Hair

The very first rule when it comes to curly hair is..embrace it! Why fight it when you can flaunt it? Curly hair looks best when cropped to the face or a long cut with a special layered cut. When left long, curly hair needs to be cut differently with alternating lengths of layers to avoid the "rooftop" haircut.
Be sure to ask your stylist to show you exactly what product to use and how to utilize your diffuser to achieve frizz free curls.
When it comes to curly hair moisture is key. Be sure to use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner as well as avoid products with alcohol.

Straight Hair

Just because your hair is straight does not mean it needs to be lifeless! Layers are key here. Right now the style is the length above or slightly below the collarbone as currently shown on Jennifer Aniston. Face framing layers and fringe can do wonders for your face shape. Keep in mind to be careful with your locks! When using the flat iron be sure to use a heat protectant spray for dry hair. Right not we are absolutely loving Goldwell's Style Sign Sleek Perfection. It is an incredible thermal protectant that holds and has a shine, but does not leave hair greasy.

Wavy Hair

Lucky you! Wavy hair can look absolutely incredible when left to air dry or diffused. We strongly recommend TIGI Session Series Salt Spray. It will give your waves some major volume without leaving a crunchy or course feeling to your hair. If you have think hair try getting more layers during your next haircut. The shorter layers will remove the weight from the hair allowing for more movement throughout the hair.

If you have straight hair and are dying for a look like above, try some professional hot rollers. We are in love with the Babybliss Pro 1 1/2 inch hot rollers. Just don't forget the thermal protectant and professional hairspray!

Any questions on the right cut for you? Don't be afraid to consult throughly with your stylist. The more questions you ask the better!

Jenniffer & Company's Favorite Products Right Now!

1. Moroccan Oil
Why we Love it!

This bottle has enough product in it to last you a year, and what is inside is a real treat! Moroccan oil is a lightweight oil that infuses vitamins into your hair. The product makes your hair soft and shiny . We recommend putting a dime size amount on the ends of your hair after you get out of the shower and right after you blow dry. There are two versions of this product, one for normal hair and one for fine hair. Be sure to purchase the correct one for your hair type.

2. Shatter Nail Polish by OPI
Why we Love it!

This product now comes in TONS of colors not just black. Place one of your favorite regular OPI colors down as a base coat and let dry. Then, place a thin coat of the shatter nail polish over that coat. Wait, and watch the magic happen! Tip: If you swirl your brush the crackle will dry in a psychedelic design!

3. Goldwell's StyleSign Thermal Heat Protectant
Why we Love it!
This product is a fantastic thermal protectant! Section your hair when curling or flat ironing and spray this on your dry hair to protect your hair from the heat of your styling tools. The best part of this spray is it does not leave a residue, does not make your hair greasy, and has a hold! "Goldwell StyleSign STRAIGHT products contain styling polymers that are enriched with bamboo protein and form an elastic film enhanced by an exclusive elastomer. The film also contains antioxidant vitamins BCE and moisturizers. The result is exceptionally smooth, shiny hair with a natural feel and flexible hold, allowing you to showcase your cut and color like never before. Additionally the overall color protection shields against moisture loss and harmful environmental influences."-From Pulse Magazine

4. TIGI Catwalk Sleek Mystique Blow Out Balm
Why We Love it!
This product is placed on the ends of damp hair and is a great assistant when it comes to blow drying. This product will help reduce the frizz, smooth your hair, and give a shiny finish! A little bit goes a long way, so this product is sure to last awhile. You will notice an amazing seductive scent to this product as well!
"Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Blow Out Balm refines and polishes hair. Gives hair shine and manageability without removing fullness. Leaves hair straight and with hydration.
